Overdue.

Congratulations to Sarah for graduating with a perfect 4.0. I'm extremely grateful that you and Faith have presented exemplary examples and thus, have set the bar high. It's a huge motivation for those of us that follow. Your hard work (countless late nights, many times where you relinquished fun events and socializing for homework, and effort to excel) has not gone unnoticed by this younger sister (nor the other one). Congratulations on your well-earned degree. I am confident that you will use your knowledge to the glory of God and I look forward to how He will use you in the years to come.

A belated happy birthday to my brother-in-law, Christmas Jared! I'm glad you and your family (minus the North Dakota siblings) were able to spend your birthday with us this year.

Last, but not least, hooray for Hope for dancing for five years straight. You've accomplished something that your older siblings never did. I wish I knew how to dance as well as you (secretly envious). You're talented in many ways and I look forward to seeing what you'll do with those gifts as the years roll by.

Sunday afternoon...

I love my family.

Footnote: I need to get some shots of Sarah, Luke and Hope!

I'm so old.

The day we spoke of as children has arrived... all too fast. It seems like just yesterday when we were in jr. & sr. high y.g. running around and acting too big for our britches. But, that was several years ago. Now most of those friends are in college and beginning to develop new lifestyles of their own. And yet, when we reunite, I feel like we're the same age as before because we're still those same children with just... a little bit more experience behind us.

This picture expresses how I have felt today.

Sadly, my camera has been out of operation for a few weeks and it will remain that way until I receive it back in the mail. I shipped my poor camera to Hildago today to get it fixed. The little bugger wouldn't turn on... no sign of life whatsoever.

My phone, on the other hand, is not getting fixed because after being in the Verizon store for ten minutes, I became extremely intimidated and left. I don't want to talk about it.

The other night at class was a "welcome to the real world" sort of night. Every time I go to this particular class, I feel as if my mind becomes slightly more polluted by the things said within the classroom by fellow students. However, the other night was exceptionally discouraging. I was running on about 4 hours of sleep and had been there all day. So, naturally, everything seemed a little worse to begin with.

Several topics were discussed that I am adamantly opposed to and cannot listen to without growing frustrated. On top of our discussion about gay rights, my friend in the class informed me (before class began) that she is having some family problems and explained in detail what they were. This caused my heart to feel even heavier and sadder. Then in my text book there is this picture of a kid getting torn from his adopted parents' arms and taken by his biological father after 4 years of living with his adoptive parents (and not knowing that this biological father even existed). The kid is crying and I imagine the adoptive parents were too. That made my heart hurt even further. Family law is a complicated and sad area of the law (mostly) and my class seems to be experiencing the different aspects of it in their own personal lives. Most of them have been in a court room before.

Halfway through the class, one of the students showed up and handed in her paper (causing a slight whisper to go around the class) and my teacher asked, "Are you alright?" And standing there with a little shake in her posture, she replied, "No, not really." But, then she left and class resumed.

It was just a very bizare ending to an extremely long day. I'm at school on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 8:50 p.m. I am glad there are only 3 more weeks left of that routine.

Holding quiet and still so as to hear.

O Love, that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths it flow
May richer, fuller be.
